Since 2004, All-Options has been promoting unconditional and judgment-free support for the full spectrum of experiences with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption.
All-Options (formerly Backline) was born in Portland, OR, where an activist named Grayson Dempsey first envisioned a new kind of organization – one that would cut across political conflicts and false dichotomies to support people in all their reproductive options and experiences. Building on her work in the abortion, adoption, and reproductive health sectors, Grayson rallied a group of allies to found All-Options and served as the organization’s first Board President from inception through the end of 2009.
Over the past decade, All-Options has evolved from an all-volunteer effort in Portland to a national organization with staff, board, and volunteers in Oregon, California, Indiana, Minnesota, Georgia, New York, and beyond. Our national toll-free Talkline, Pregnancy Options Workshops, and All-Options Pregnancy Resource Center continue to set the standard for open-hearted and unbiased all-options support.
Recognizing that we were at a pivotal moment of growth and opportunity, All-Options embarked on a strategic planning process in the spring of 2016. We wanted to build on the success of our All-Options PRC, and use that model to expand to meet the growing demand for our programs and approach across the country. Our goal was to explore, evaluate, and decide on the best path forward for our organization, our programs, our clients and communities, and our team of board, staff, and volunteers.
With input from our staff, board, volunteers, and stakeholders, All-Options identified our organizational strengths, challenges, and opportunities, and outlined key decisions and goals for advancing our mission over the next two years. The outcome of the November 2016 elections underscored the importance of the fight for reproductive justice and strengthened our resolve to create a world where everyone is supported in all their options, decisions, and experiences.
We are pleased to share the strategic plan with you, and welcome your questions, feedback, and ideas for working together to create the caring and just world we envision.
